Dining chairs, certain wood-framed seats among products excluded from China duty
Importers of certain dining room chairs and wood-framed seats (other than chairs) may be eligible for an exclusion from the 25% additional duty currently assessed on those products from China. Importers must act to claim these exclusions or they will continue to pay this very high additional duty.
If your company imports either of these products please contact us immediately for further details and so that we may help you determine if those exclusions apply to your products. Best of all, not only will excluded products be exempted from the additional duty on future shipments, importers can actually recover duties paid on these products for the past 14-16 months. In some cases this could be hundreds of thousands of dollars or more!
